Will this stem cell therapy cure me?
No. The goal of stem cell therapy is to empower the body to heal itself. Stem cells are the basic building blocks of life, the basic cells from which our bodies are made. They are formed at conception and specialized to become all of the different tissues of the body: muscles, nerves, organs, bones, blood and so on. In general terms, stem cells are progenitor cells that lead to the creation of new cells. Once administered, stem cells follow inflammatory signals from damaged tissues and have multiple ways of repairing these injured areas.
How much does the treatment cost? Does health insurance cover any portion of the cost?
There are multiple factors in determining the cost of treatment. Please contact us to have your case evaluated. Typically, private or public health insurance does not cover stem cell treatment.
How long will it take to see results?
Because each condition and each patient is unique, there is no guarantee what results will be achieved or how quickly they may be observed. Most patients report positive results in as little as a couple of weeks to 1-3 months, but it can take as long as 6-9 months. We recommend physical therapy, healthy nutrition, and a commitment by friends and family to support the patient’s desire to improve. Please continue to work closely with your referring physicians for post-therapy care.
How many stem cell treatments will I need?
After your first intravenous delivery, MSCs will continue to proliferate and carry on their work of repairing tissue. Some patients choose to receive treatment more than once to expedite the healing process. That decision is yours. If you decide to repeat the treatment, a waiting period of 6 months is recommended.
My friend says this procedure will not help me and may even hurt me. How do I respond?
It is only natural for close friends and family members to express concern when a patient pursues an innovative course of treatment. Remember, a great amount of people initially voiced doubts about previous groundbreaking diagnostic tools and therapies such as vaccinations, dialysis and even x- rays. The truth is that the scientific and medical communities have espoused the potential benefits in stem cells for decades for the treatment of a variety of human ailments. Novastem and Stemedica believe that MSC-based stem cell therapy is advanced enough to be offered as a viable and ethical option for individuals seeking solutions to life-altering ailments that have not responded to traditional treatment. Moreover, we routinely treat patients from multiple countries, including Canada, the U.S., England and Australia.
