Chief surgeon & Spine specialist
Dr. Izquierdo is School of Medicine at the University of Guadalajara graduate with a Fellowship in Spine Surgery from the University of Kansas.
A highly-regarded Surgeon and Spine Specialist, Dr. Izquierdo is a member of The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS); the International Society of Minimal Intervention in Spine Surgery (ISMISS); and, the Mexican Advisory Board for Orthopedics and Traumatology.
Dr. Izquierdo is also an active delegate to the National Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, being part of the evaluation committee for new board certifications. He is considered a top surgeon in his field and is highly respected for his ethics and techniques.
Dr. Izquierdo has successfully performed more than one thousand spine procedures involving intraspinal devices during his career as well as conducted over a hundred Wellex back repair procedures over the past year.
Chief medical officer
Dr. Felix received her medical degree from the Xochicalco University School of Medicine in Mexico with a Master’s degree in Stem Cells and Regeneration from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Felix has extensive experience in regenerative medicine with expertise in applying stem cells in the treatment of a myriad of medical conditions through clinical trials and clinical applications. Over the past three years, Dr. Felix has supervised the treatment of several hundred patients participating in over a dozen different clinical trials. Her research is focused on autologous and allogeneic therapies to improve the quality of life of patients.
Dr. Felix is devoted to offering new and efficient treatments to patients suffering from degenerative conditions, such as orthopedic diseases. She is actively involved in breakthrough research and innovative treatment solutions in Regenerative Medicine
Dr. Felix brings more than a decade of evaluation, examination, clinical trial design and patient consultation experience to every patient visiting the My Spine Center.
Anesthesiologist & pain management expert
Dr. Amescua is a member of The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP); The Special Interest Group (SIG) of Neuropathic Pain in IASP; The International Coalition of Neuropathic Pain; The World Institute of Pain; Former President of the Mexican Association for the Study and Treatment of Pain (AMETD), Former President of the College of Anesthesiologist of Tijuana, México and the Mexican Federation of Anesthesiologist.
Dr. Amescua is also a guest instructor at several University Medical Schools across Mexico.
Dr. Amescua is board-certified in Pain Management and Anesthesia with extensive medical experience in treating a wide range of chronic pain conditions including lower back and neck pain with interventional procedures.
Dr. Amescua brings more than 30 years of medical, surgical and pain management expertise to every patient treated.
He studied medicine at La Salle University in Guadalajara. He later completed his residency in general surgery certified by the National University.
His academic background includes the honor of being a professor in medical specialty training for the renowned UNAM University for several years, and head of the department of teaching in a local institutional hospital.
He has over 40 years of experience in general surgery and medical procedures and was a member of Mercy medical outreach program in San Diego. Dr. Armando Garcia is affiliated with the national surgeon’s association as well as with the medical tourism association.
